Ahhhhh. Sierra Station. A Grosse Pointe Park staple for 40 years. You gotta love just straight up cheesy, no fuss no frills Mexican food. This is a favorite for John who loves the Nopalitos. Cactus in scrambled eggs with fresh warm tortillas and the standard rice and beans.
I had the small Botana and it was HUGE. Next time I will get a mini. Crunch chips, refried beans, melty cheese and a ton of jalapeños, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, green pepper an onion. Very good as a meal or as an appetizer for 2 (or 3 or 4) or more.
We had the house sangria tonight which is always good. You can get it by the glass or the liter. Yum. And also a wide selection of beers and cocktails are available.
The owner is always there and makes the rounds of the tables which is a nice touch. The decorations are over the top and the owner showed us his newly renovated side room for parties and large groups. The room is WOW amazing with amazing tables and chairs. I cannot even begin to describe them. Go check it out.!!
What more can I say. Good, hearty comfort food in a cozy atmosphere.
